Jefa

Overview

Jefa is a challenger bank built for women in Latin America. It offers digital accounts and electronic banking to customers who are underserved by traditional banks, with the explicit goal of narrowing the gender gap in access to financial services.

My role

I built the iOS app for the second version of Jefa, a complete redesign of the product, working with a team of engineers and designers as part of Kin + Carta.

Hardest part

Redesigning a live banking app is not a visual exercise. Every screen changes at once while real customers keep using their accounts, and the flows underneath, onboarding, KYC, transfers, have to keep working exactly as before while the surface changes completely.

I rebuilt the app screen by screen against a shared component layer, so the redesign could ship as one coherent product rather than a patchwork of old and new.
